Summer 2024

This summer has been such a whirlwind, I’ve hardly stopped working and I'm afraid I didn't manage to send out an email during June or July. Many hours at my workbench, preparing for, and then attending some of my biggest events to date. I took part in Warwickshire Open Studios, exhibiting at two venues on different weekends in June/July. Then followed Leamington Art In The Park at the beginning of August and now Stratford-upon-Avon Art Society Summer Exhibition is in full swing and runs until Sunday 25th.

Stratford-upon-Avon Art Society Summer Exhibition 

I have attended this much-loved annual exhibition of local artists’ work many times over the years, and still have pictures hanging in my sitting room, purchased there dating back to the 90’s. It hadn’t ever occurred to me, until I attended last year’s exhibition, that I could join the Art Society and exhibit some of my own work. And I’m so glad I have done so as it is proving to be a wonderful experience.

As a newcomer, I wanted to create something special for the exhibition, and after giving it a lot of thought, I came up with the idea of creating a set of six pieces, each one showcasing a gemstone mentioned by Shakespeare in his plays. I had a lot of fun designing pendants that would represent these six plays. Can you guess which plays are depicted? Website Refresh and Update

The website has had a bit of a facelift, although behind the scenes the functionality remains the same. I hope the new look is to your liking. I’d love to hear your thoughts. I'm also working through a backlog of recently made jewellery items, to get them photographed and detailed for listing as quickly as I can.

Fun wiggly silver long dangly earrings with beautiful natural purple amethysts.

Onyx and Garnet Gothic Pendant

Bold black onyx and deep red garnet, natural gemstones set in silver, adorned with silver balls, in a gothic style pendant necklace.
