Hammered Hearts on Square Silver Dangly Earrings

Hand made using traditional methods. The hearts and squares were cut from a sheet of sterling silver using a piercing saw. The pieces were filed and sanded with abrasive paper to smooth the edges and remove scratches and a texture applied with a hammer before soldering them together. Jump rings were soldered to to the tops and then they were pickled to remove fire scale caused by the blowtorch. This was followed by cleaning and polishing to give them a lovely sheen. The square surrounds were darkened with patina to highlight the hearts before hanging them on beaded hook wires.
