Hammered 3D Heart Silver Pendant Necklace on 16" Chain

An unusual handmade hammered silver heart pendant. This 3D silver heart necklace is chunky, but not heavy, as it is cleverly constructed from sheet sterling silver to form a lightweight hollow bead. Hung on a 16" sterling silver chain.

How this jewellery was made ↓
Hand made using traditional methods. The two heart shapes were cut from a sheet of sterling silver along with two rectangles that would form the sides of the pendant. The pieces were filed and sanded to smoothe the edges and the hearts were textured by hammering. Holes were drilled in the rectangles for the chain to pass through. The rectangles were then curved and the pendant was constructed and soldered. It was placed in pickle to remove the fire scale caused by the blowtorch. Lastly it was cleaned and polished to give its lovely sheen and the chain threaded through.
