Red White Enamelled Silver Teardrop Earrings

Handmade dangly earrings with silver teardrops, and vitreous enamel to give a unique splash of speckled red and white colour. Each earring has two layered silver teardrops, the larger one hanging beind a smaller enamelled one, on beaded sterling silver ear wires.

How this jewellery was made ↓
Hand made using traditional methods. The teardrops were drawn by hand and cut from sheet sterling silver using a piercing saw. They were then drilled, filed and sanded with abrasive paper to smooth the edges and remove scratches. The smaller teardrops were enamelled using finely ground glass powders, heating with a blowtorch to melt the glass and fuse it to the silver. Each piece was then cleaned and polished to give them a lovely sheen before hanging them on beaded sterling silver hook wires.
