How this jewellery was made ↓

Handmade using traditional silversmithing methods. First the ivy leaves were drawn freehand onto a sheet of sterling silver and cut out with a piercing saw. The edges were filed and sanded using five different grades of abrasive papers to smooth the edges. They were then soldered to another sheet of silver, and sawn around. Further filing and sanding followed before a jump ring was soldered to the top. The pendant was then placed in a pickling solution to help remove the fire scale caused by the blow torch. After this the piece was cleaned and polished. A patina was added to oxidise and darken the backing plate so as to highlight the shiny leaves.
