Triangle Aquamarine Silver Pendant Necklace

Hand made using traditional methods. The little silver balls were created by melting small pieces of sterling silver. The stone setting was created by fitting a very thin strip of fine silver bezel around the stone to make a triangular band which was then soldered to a sheet of sterling silver along with the silver balls. The pendant was then cut out, filed and sanded and a jump ring soldered to the top. The piece was placed in a warm pickling solution to remove the fire scale caused by the blow torch, followed by lots of cleaning and polishing to give the pendant its lovely sheen. A patina was added to blacken the background to highlight the shiny raised parts of the pendant. The stone was placed in its setting and the silver bezel shaped over to hold it in place, and burnished.
