Haematite Hammered Silver Wide Ring size M

Hand made using traditional methods. The ring band was formed from a strip of sterling silver and shaped over a mandrel and hammered to give its lovely texture. The stone setting was created by fitting a strip of fine silver bezel around the stone to make a ring the correct size for the haematite to sit in and the two pieces were soldered together.  The ring was placed in a warm pickling solution to remove the fire scale caused by the blow torch, followed by filing, sanding and lots of polishing to give the ring its lovely sheen. Lastly the stone was placed in its setting and the silver bezel shaped over the stone and burnished.
