Emerald & Hammered Silver Dangly Earrings

Hand crafted using traditional methods. The stone settings were created by fitting silver bezel strip around each stone and making little rings. Two lengths of silver wire were shaped and hammered for the shape of the earrings and then soldered onto a sheet of sterling silver with the hammered circles. These were then cut from the sheet of silver using a piercing saw, filed and sanded. Next jump rings were soldered to the top of each one and then they were placed in a warm pickling solution to remove the fire scale caused by the blow torch, then lots of cleaning and polishing to give the earrings their lovely sheen. Patina was added to the backing plates and then the stones were placed in the settings. The silver bezel was pushed over the stones to secure them in place and the settings were burnished. Lastly, they were hung on sterling silver hook wires.
