Blue Lace Agate Wide Hammered Silver Ring size O

Hand made using traditional methods. Fine silver bezel was fitted around the stone to form an oval which was then soldered to a sheet of sterling silver to make a cup the correct size and shape for the stone to sit in. The ring band was formed from a strip of sterling silver and shaped over a mandrel and the ends soldered. These pieces were filed and sanded with several grades of abrasive papers to smooth all the edges and remove scratches. The band was hammered to give it's lovely texture. The cup was then soldered to the band and then the ring was placed in a warm pickling solution to remove the fire scale caused by the blow torch. Next it was cleaned up and lots of polishing to give the ring its lovely sheen. Lastly the stone was placed in the cup and the silver bezel shaped over the stone and burnished.
