How this jewellery was made ↓
Hand made using traditional methods. The oval was hand drawn and cut from a sheet of sterling silver using a piercing saw. This was filed, sanded and the texture added by hammering. The stone setting was created by fitting a thin strip of fine silver bezel around the stone and making it into an oval before soldering it to the silver oval. The ring band was formed from a strip of sterling silver and shaped over a mandrel then soldered to the back of the oval. The ring was then placed in a warm pickling solution to remove the fire scale caused by the blow torch. Then followed lots of cleaning and polishing to give the ring its lovely sheen. Lastly the stone was placed in the cup and the silver bezel shaped over it and burnished.
