Heart-Shaped Purple Fluorite Silver Dangly Earrings

Hand crafted using traditional methods. First the walls for the stone settings were created by fitting a strip of fine silver bezel around each stone. Two pieces of silver sheet were cut for the base of the stone settings, and textured on one side by hammering. The setting walls were soldered to the bases, and then the heart shapes were cut round, filed and sanded until the join between the walls and the base were flush, creating two little heart-shaped cups. Jump rings were soldered to the top of each one and then they were placed in a warm pickling solution to remove the fire scale caused by the blow torch, followed by lots of cleaning and polishing to give the earrings their lovely sheen. The stones were then placed in the settings and the silver bezel pushed over the stones to hold them in place and the settings were burnished. Lastly they were hung on sterling silver a hook wires.
